"Infant Wardrobe I" Special Occasion Dressing. Not all fathers want a christening gown lavished with lace for their baby boys. And not all little girls are cut out for frilly dresses. This pattern gives you another option for special occasion dressing for both boys and girls. There is a simple collarless jacket with pockets, dress pants with optional pockets, a tailored shirt that can be ruffled for girls and a "Scottish" kilt and tam for dress occasions for a baby who doesn't want pants. There are many ways to do up each of these pieces so they can be as tailored as you please or dressed up with lace tucks or smocking. Imagine a tiny velvet jacket with a tartan kilt or 'trews' and a beautiful silk shirt with a tiny bow tie or a lace-edged jabot. What could be more attractive on a baby at a wedding or for Christmas? Or do the outfit all in white linen, piqué or silk for a Christening. For a funky look, do the mix of prints, plaids and checks that are currently in vogue. You can be as bold as you like and use up some of your quilting fabrics for fun dressing and everyday clothing. You don’t have to be Scottish to wear a kilt! Remember, kilts and tams are traditional military wear for men. Each piece is so much fun to create! The pattern is sized by weight and chest measurement not age as not all babies are born at six pounds! This princess line pattern with square armholes was designed to co-ordinate with the pattern, "Summer Breeze" as a robe. But it can be a cuddly smocked nightgown or be a lavished with as much or as little lace as you wish for a romantic heirloom nightgown. There are three choices of sleeve lengths and since the sleeve pattern is in two parts, you can create a seam and pipe it or do some other creative technique. There is a stand up collar in View B, a satin bias bound jewel neckline with shoulder opening in View A and a square neckline in View C that allows you to slip the gown over your head avoiding buttons and buttonholes altogether! Pockets and three design plates are included in the pattern. Autumn Leaves can be embellished with heirloom techniques, machine embroidery, smocking, tucking, or quilting. It is all up to your imagination. There are so many ways to make up this pattern. With a size range from XS to XXXL, there is sure to be a one to fit everyone! Price: $15.00 "BABY'S BREATH" A Baby's Seamless Bishop Nightie. Once upon a time newborn babies came home from the hospital in a cozy, soft, tiny, smocked flannel nightgown or bunting. This pattern is designed to carry on this tradition. It is seamless in the neckline area making the pleating super easy but has a unique set in sleeve. It comes in sizes 5, 7, 9, and 11 lbs. and was designed to be made in soft flannel or 100% cotton knit. To reduce bulk, it is suggested that the neckline be bound in soft satin fabric. Construction is completed before you start smocking. Since it has no neckline shaping, it can be worn buttoned or domed up the front or back depending on your preference. The bunting bottom has been offered as an option. Dress it up or keep it plain. Three design plates are included along with tips and additional ideas at the back of the pattern. It is a joy to make for your new bundle of joy. Price: $8.00 Additional Baby's Breath Images "SNOWDRIFT" Snowdrift - A Ladies' Smocked Nightgown. This cozy winter nightgown can be smocked in the front, smocked in the front & back or not smocked at all! It is designed to be made of cotton flannel, flannelette or other winter weight fabric. The yoke can be quilted, embellished with embroidery or boutis techniques, Battenberg lace, shadow embroidery, Madeira appliqué, sashiko quilting, piping and many other techniques or with as much lace as you like. Make it short for a bed jacket or pajama top and add store bought pants or turn it into a robe. If you are adventurous, you might try it in batiste without the smocking or the long sleeves! Three smocking designs are contained in the pattern. View A has a side opening allowing for unbroken smocking across the front. Close with 'frogs', buttons or snaps. Long sleeves are smocked at the wrist. Pockets are included! View B has a button front placket, collar and long sleeves with button cuffs and pockets. View C has a sweetheart yoke, button front placket, long sleeves with cuffs and pockets. This nightgown was designed keeping in mind how sensitive women's skin can be following open-heart surgery or a mastectomy. The generous opening and deep armholes makes it easy to get on and off without having to raise your arms over your head. - particularly if you have shoulder problems. The pattern has been designed to be made of heavier weight fabrics such as broadcloth, flannel, light weight wools, fine corduroy etc. It comes in sizes 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10. View A is a jumper with an asymmetric button closing. View B is a short-sleeved dress with button front closing and Peter Pan Collar. View C is full length, with sweetheart neckline, button front placket & long sleeves. Pattern contains 3 design plates and pattern for stand-up collar & cuffs. Be creative and try colour blocking one of the views or mix and match the collars and sleeves with the yokes for more looks. This pattern is designed to be made of heavier weight fabrics such as flannel or broadcloth. All three views are smocked and feature a round yoke like the children’s pattern but have a play-friendly CB opening. View A has a mock side yoke opening, long smocked sleeves and plain long skirt. View B has a little stand up collar, long sleeves with cuffs and a ruffle at the hem. View C comes with a sweetheart neckline and pajama bottoms. View B is a full-length heirloom version that has a bodice band with an easy Swiss edge overlay in the front. This band can be tucked or embroidered or decorated with heirloom laces. View C is constructed of 12 colour coordinated skirt panels and is slightly longer than View A. The hem features playful Harlequin inspired picot points. "Belle" This pattern in sizes 2, 4 and 6 offers a dress and petticoat combination. The pieces can stand alone as a dress, the slip as a jumper or sundress, or be combined for a layered look. View A is an heirloom layered look. Swiss insertion and French lace define the yoke and hem. Designer sleeves are trimmed to match. The petticoat hem of Swiss edging forms the lower ruffle. Button back closing. View B is a simplified version with embroidered yoke defined by lace insertion. It has a lace edged smocked sleeves. The skirt has a shaped lace design.
