Our Pleater Rods are constructed from the finest hardwood dowels available in North America.
Each rod is sprayed with two layers of protective coating and then sanded to a silky smooth finish.
We offer two styles of pleater rods: Select-a-Size Rods, and Travel Size Rods. You can purchase a Travel rod and add to it another piece (choose a Select-a-Size Rod) to extend the length of your rod. These Travel Size Rods are in two pieces to make them easier to ship or with which to travel. We offer set groupings in the Combinations below.

These features enable “Select-a-Size” rods to be connected together so longer lengths can be created. Simply remove the safety cap from the end of one rod exposing the connecting pin. Gently slide that pin into the receptive port of another rod.
This eliminates the inconvenience and problem of storing or transporting long cumbersome pleater rods.
The connecting feature is very strong, stable and versatile. (Example: connecting the 12, 18 and 24 inch “Select-a-Size” rods together will create a pleater rod of approximately 51½ inches in length. Other combinations will produce various lengths: 12 + 18, 12 + 24, 12 + 36, 18 + 18, 18 + 24, 18 + 36 etc.)
Travel Size Rods come in lengths of 12, 18, 24 or 36 inches*. See Fig. 2. Each set consists of two rods of equal length. (For example, the 12" rod consists of two 6" rods which when put together equal 12 "; 18" rod is two 9" rods which becomes 18"; the 24" rod is two 12" rods and so on.) Each rod is equipped with a connecting pin covered by a removable safety cap at one end and a receptive port at the other end.
To use, simply remove the safety cap from the end of one rod exposing the connecting pin and gently slide that pin into the receptive port of the other rod.
The “Travel Rod” feature makes it very convenient and easy to travel with and store your pleater rod. At approximately half the size of a standard pleater rod you can carry your “Travel Rod” virtually anywhere, in your pocket, handbag, briefcase or luggage. See Fig. 2A & 2B

Combination “A” – consists of a 12 inch “Travel Rod”, a 12 inch and an 18 inch “Select-a-Size” rod. This allows for a possible combination of 7 variations of length from 12 inches to approximately 38¼ inches.
Combination “B” – consists of an 18 inch “Travel Rod”, a 12 inch and an 18 inch “Select-a-Size” rod. This allows for a possible combination of 7 variations of length from 12 inches to approximately 44 ¼ inches.
Combination “C” – consists of a 24 inch “Travel Rod”, a 12 inch and an 18 inch “Select-a-Size” rod. This allows for a possible combination of 7 variations of length from 12 inches to approximately 50¼ inches.
Combination “D” – consists of a 36 inch “Travel Rod”, a 12 inch “Select-a-Size” and a 24 inch “Select-a-Size” rod. This allows for a possible combination of 7 variations of length from 18 inches to approximately 68¼ inches.
